This is my number one tip for anyone who wants to beat the crowds. If you have a daytime ticket and an HHN ticket, you don’t have to leave the park.
In 2025, Universal changed the game. They allowed guests to check in starting at 3:00 PM. You get a wristband and can roam select areas. At 4:00 PM, you can join “Stay and Scream” holding lines for the haunted houses.

The Benefit: You can usually get through a house or two before the general public even enters at 6:30 PM.

The Cost: If you don’t have a daytime ticket, you can buy a “Scream Early” pass for a small fee. Totally worth it and I highly recommend it.
2. Is the HHN Express Pass Worth It?
In a word: Yes. Universal Orlando wait times in 2026 can soar to over 120 minutes for a single house. If you only have one night, you will not see everything without an Express Pass.

The Cost: These passes are separate from your event ticket. Prices range from $170 to $300 depending on the night. I always tell my clients to buy these early. They do sell out!
3. The Ultimate HHN Splurge: The RIP Tour
If you want the “red carpet” treatment, the RIP Tour is king. This is a guided walking tour that gives you front-of-the-line access to every house.

This experience is not cheap. Nor should it be. This is an experience and time saver. If expense isn’t an issue or you absolutely hate lines…even the express pass line….The RIP Tour is for you!
4. HHN Tasting the Terror: Food and Drinks
HHN is now a world-class food festival. Last year, Alan and I did a “culinary crawl” through the park.

Mom Cut the Crust Off PB&J: This was a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich with hot maple syrup and chili flakes. It was the perfect mix of sweet and heat for $9.99.

Toy Box Cider: This sparkling cider featured Fireball whiskey and black sugar. It even had a gummy bear garnish!

Phantom Punch: The classic vodka fruit punch. Pro tip: Buy it in a Blinky Cup to get cheaper refills all night.
