Unleash Your Inner Ogre: Dive into DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida!

Hello, animation fans and theme park adventurers! Katy Thompson here, your cheerful travel agent from Gallivanters Vacations. My mind buzzes with excitement about Universal Orlando’s constant new additions. Universal has expanded so much recently! Everyone is talking about Epic Universe that opened in May. They did an excellent job with Nintendo Land, Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon. They were able to create a multi-generational land. For example, the nostalgia of Nintendo land hit me (one who grew up playing the original Nintendo), in a completely different manner than it did my kids, who experienced Super Mario on the Switch. Gen X to Gen Z grew up with Harry Potter, so the Ministry of Magic will resonate most of us. Everyone can enjoy the classic monsters in Dark Universe. However, I feel like Universal Studios addition that opened last year, has been lost in the shuffle. Let’s explore why you shouldn’t forget about DreamWorks Land at the Universal Studios park.

Which Park is DreamWorks Land In?

DreamWorks Land opened on June 14, 2024. This marked a new time for Universal Studios Florida. This exciting area took over the old Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone space. Thus, it offers a fresh, modern experience for families. DreamWorks Land is in Universal Studios Florida. It is not in Islands of Adventure. Therefore, you will need a park-to-park ticket. Or, get a ticket just for Universal Studios Florida. This lets you see all its wonders.

Step into Your Favorite DreamWorks Worlds!

DreamWorks Land brings beloved movies to life. It has special areas for each. You will truly feel like you are in the movies!

  • Shrek’s Swamp: This charming area has Shrek’s tall house! It is 35 feet high. You can meet Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey here. The area also features King Harold’s Swamp Symphony, a fun game where you make frogs croak. For little ones, Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres offers a fun splash pad. “Little Ogre” dryers are also nearby. This special area includes a “farting” slide! It is actually a soft slide and makes silly sounds as kids go down. It’s a blast for younger children. There are no strict height limits for the splash pad. However, parents should watch their kids.
  • Trolls Village: Get ready for pure pop fun! This bright area celebrates all things Trolls. The best part here is the Trolls Trollercoaster. This family-friendly coaster goes through a colorful world. It used to be the Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster. The smallest height for the Trollercoaster is 36 inches (92 cm). Children under 48 inches (122 cm) need an adult with them. Also, do not miss Poppy’s Playground. This is a fun, mushroom-themed play area. It is perfect for jumping around.
  • Kung Fu Panda Training Camp: Come into Po’s world! This play zone lets kids practice Kung Fu moves. You will find fun water cannons. There are also big noodle slides. There is also Po Live!. This is a fun show where Po helps guests with Kung Fu. He even cooks! Like other play areas, height rules are for safe play. They are not strict limits.

Rides and Attractions: Fun for All Ages!

The Trolls Trollercoaster is the main ride. Still, DreamWorks Land has many fun things to do:

  • Trolls Trollercoaster: This is a nice, small coaster. It is great for younger kids. It also suits families.
    • Minimum Height: 36 inches (92 cm).
    • Supervising Companion: Needed for riders under 48 inches (122 cm).
  • Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres (including the “farting” slide and splash pad): This is mostly a play area. There are no strict height rules to enter. But, parents should always watch kids on play structures.
  • Poppy’s Playground: This is like Shrek’s area. It is an open play space for young guests. No specific height rules are given. Children must use the equipment safely.

Beyond these, see the DreamWorks Imagination Celebration. This is a great show in the DreamWorks Theater. You can also meet your favorite characters. These include Shrek, Donkey, Puss in Boots, Poppy, Branch, and Po!

Who is DreamWorks Land Perfect For?

This new land is a dream for families with young children! It has gentle rides and lots of fun play areas. You can also meet many characters that your kids grew up watching. If your kids love DreamWorks movies, this will be right up their alley. It also gives kids a great place to run, play, and get some their energy out. Ultimately, it is a great new part of Universal Studios Florida that is being overlooked because of Epic Universe. This is one of the best kept secrets for younger kids.
