When you dream of taking more than one cruise a year without paying a separate base fare for every single trip, things get exciting. Margaritaville at Sea has introduced a new 2027 Annual Cruise Membership. It promises eligible cruises throughout the membership period for one upfront price starting at $2,499 for two adults.
This new All-You-Can-Sail offer expands the cruise line’s previous pass program to all three ships in its fleet. As a travel advisor, I love giving my clients more opportunities to explore the Caribbean and enjoy short getaways or longer vacations. But, I also help you weigh the pros and cons, find the best deals, and find what’s best for you. The answer to the questions “Is the Cruise Membership wort it?”, is it can be, but it’s not a fit for most clients. My job is to help you sort through the details and math to figure out if your one of the ones that this makes sense for. In short, if you’re planning to or are available to cruise 6 times or more in the year or so, this will save you money, and I would recommend considering it.
Here are the answers to five of the biggest questions travelers should consider before purchasing the Margaritaville at Sea 2027 Annual Cruise Membership.
- Is Margaritaville at Sea’s $2,499 Unlimited Cruise Pass Worth It?
For travelers who plan to take multiple cruises, the Margaritaville at Sea Annual Cruise Membership could offer significant savings. However, the value depends on how often you sail, which itineraries you choose, and how much you spend on additional fees.
The membership starts at $2,499 for two adults. Returning Paradise Pass holders may qualify for a limited-time price of $1,999.
Unlike a traditional cruise booking, where you pay a separate cruise fare for each trip, the membership provides access to eligible sailings through December 31, 2027. Availability remains subject to program restrictions. But, currently that give you about 15 months to get plenty of time on the water.
How much could you save?
Consider this simplified example of how the membership cost could work for two adults:
| Eligible Cruises Taken | Membership Cost Per Cruise |
| 1 cruise | $2,499 |
| 2 cruises | $1,249.50 |
| 3 cruises | $833 |
| 4 cruises | $624.75 |
| 6 cruises | $416.50 |
Note: These figures represent the $2,499 membership price divided by the number of cruises, not the total vacation cost. Taxes, port fees, gratuities, and other charges are additional.
The more eligible cruises you take, the lower your membership cost per trip becomes. For example, a couple planning four eligible sailings allocates approximately $625 of the membership price to each cruise before extra expenses.
What costs are not included?
The membership is not an all-inclusive vacation package. Members remain responsible for:
- Applicable cruise taxes and fees
- Port expenses
- Gratuities
- Any applicable fuel supplements
- Parking
- Onboard purchases (like alcoholic beverages, shore excursions, and specialty dining)
The bottom line: The membership attracts frequent cruisers who have flexible schedules and can use it several times. Travelers planning only a few cruises should compare the full membership cost with a regular cruise fare before purchasing.
- What Is Included in the $2,499 Margaritaville Cruise Membership?
The 2027 Annual Cruise Membership lets eligible travelers book repeated cruises without purchasing a new standard base-fare ticket for each eligible sailing.
Published membership benefits include:
- Unlimited eligible sailings: Cruise during the membership period through December 31, 2027.
- Three-ship access: Sail aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, Islander, or Beachcomber.
- Short cruises and longer vacations: Eligible round-trip itineraries run up to seven nights.
- Accommodations for two adults: One double-occupancy stateroom per booking, with categories up to Breezy Balcony, subject to availability.
- Additional guest options: Members can add third and fourth guests under the program’s applicable upgrade or fare rules.
- Booking flexibility: Reserve eligible sailings through the cruise line’s membership booking process.
Membership benefits begin upon purchase, meaning you can book eligible sailings during the remaining membership period right away.
Are drinks, meals, and entertainment included?
The membership price covers eligible cruise accommodation and transportation under membership terms rather than every possible onboard expense.
Margaritaville at Sea’s standard experience includes meals, select beverages, and live entertainment. Specialty dining, alcoholic beverages, and shore excursions cost extra. Always review the official membership details for the latest fees and cabin eligibility before booking.
- What Are the Blackout Dates and Booking Restrictions?
The phrase “unlimited cruises” sounds straightforward, but the membership comes with several important restrictions. Understanding these rules early helps you avoid disappointment.
When can members book?
Membership cruises must be booked between 30 days and 24 hours before departure.
You cannot reserve membership sailings months in advance. You must plan around the eligible inventory available within that specific booking window. Reservations are made through the Margaritaville at Sea call center rather than the regular website.
Are there blackout dates?
Yes. The cruise line publishes blackout dates for each ship, and they may add more over time.
Some published 2027 blackout dates include:
- Paradise: January 1, January 25, February 14, and March 26.
- Islander: January 25, May 27, July 3, and September 4.
- Beachcomber: January 9, January 23, February 13, and March 27.
These are examples, not complete lists. Check the official schedule before purchasing.
Can you take back-to-back cruises?
No. Published rules prohibit consecutive membership sailings. A new membership cruise cannot depart on the same day as, or the day after, the return of a previous membership cruise. Furthermore, members can hold only one active membership booking at a time.
Reservations also depend on designated membership inventory and ship capacity. Finally, the membership is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
- Which Ships and Departure Ports Are Included in the 2027 Deal?
Access to all three Margaritaville at Sea ships gives members fantastic routing options.
- Margaritaville at Sea Paradise: Sails from the Port of Palm Beach in Florida, perfect for quick getaways.
- Margaritaville at Sea Islander: Sails from Port Tampa Bay in Florida, offering great western Caribbean options.
- Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber: Expected to sail from PortMiami from January through September 2027 before moving to Galveston, Texas, beginning in October 2027.
That planned relocation makes the membership especially fun for travelers wanting to explore multiple departure ports. Ship schedules change, so confirm the latest details before making travel arrangements.
- Can You Bring a Guest, Cruise Solo, or Sail as Often as You Want?
The membership starts at $2,499 for two adults, making it ideal for couples who cruise together often. But solo travelers and guest changes have specific guidelines.
Can you bring a different guest on each cruise?
Yes, the second guest can change between bookings, subject to the cruise line’s guest-change and cancellation policies. Members can also purchase an upgrade to include a third or fourth guest.
Can you cruise alone?
Yes, but additional single supplement charges apply:
- $159 for sailings lasting two to three nights.
- $259 for sailings lasting four to seven nights.
Solo travelers must factor these fees in alongside taxes, port fees, and gratuities.
Is the Margaritaville at Sea $2,499 Deal Right for You?
The 2027 Annual Cruise Membership suits frequent cruisers who enjoy shorter trips and maintain flexible schedules. It fits less well for local travelers who don’t need to book far in advance, want to sail on specific holidays, or prefer consecutive cruises. If you are Florida retiree, I think this may be right up your alley!
Before purchasing, ask yourself three questions:
- Can I realistically take at least 5 eligible cruises before December 31, 2027? Remember, 5 is probably close to breaking even. However, 6 is where this begins to be a value.
- Am I flexible enough to work around blackout dates and limited booking inventory?
- Have I budgeted for taxes, port fees, gratuities, and onboard expenses beyond the membership price?
If your answers are yes, this program is worth exploring.
